People ask me how do you come up with a song? Well, I can't speak for other songwriters, but for me it usually happens in the morning. I grab a cup of coffee and strum a few chords and usually, within a few minutes, I have some chord progression I like. It has a lot to do with the mood I'm in that particular morning. If my back hurts and I have some problems on my mind, I'll play some minor chords and write a sad song. If I wake up and my back doesn't hurt, and the sun is out and my relationships are strong, I'll play a major progression and, if feeling the funk, it will become a song like Funky Train. Also, if during the day someone says something witty, it's very likely to become part of a song the next day. So, tell me something witty! I have no idea why I write so much, but I've done so all my life. I guess it's just me trying to figure out what life's all about !
